Many people look back to the days of boxing in the 1950s and remember the sport being at its best at that time. There were several boxers that became legends in that era from coming up with performances that many other people did not think were possible. One of the boxers that is remembered with great affection is the great Rocky Marciano.

Marciano was perfect for his entire career and was known as one of the greatest fighters of all time. He would take on another great fighter named Archie Moore on the 21st of September Jason Spriggs Packers Jersey , 1955. These two fighters were both out to prove that they were the greatest fighters in the world. While Marciano was perfect in his 48 fights going into the match, he did not have nearly the professional experience that Moore did going into the fight. Over the course of his career, Moore fought well over 200 fights. He won 185 times and lost 23 times. In his 185 victories he managed to win 131 of the fights by way of knockout. He is actually the record holder for most knockouts in a career and was known as one of the greatest punchers of all time.

With so many accolades, this fight was highly anticipated. Not only was this a fight between two great boxers, but it was also a fight between two men representing their respective communities. Marciano was an Italian American from Brockton, Massachusetts and Moore was an African American from Benoit, Mississippi.

Marciano was the current champion at the time of this fight and he would be out to defend his title as the best fighter in the world. While the fight was originally scheduled for the 20th of September, it was necessary to postpone the match because of a hurricane that was approaching. Fortunately, the hurricane did not do the damage that was warned of and the fighters were able to square off the next day in the Bronx.

Early on it appeared that Moore would have Rocky?s number. Moore was coming out with some tough punches and was displaying the power that everyone talked about. Marciano was struggling to respond the way that most people thought he would. Part way through the second round Moore made his first big statement. He managed to knock Marciano down to the ground. Marciano was not used to hitting the ground and the crowd eagerly waited in anticipation to see if Marciano would get back up. Marciano managed to get back up after a 4 count.

Most people felt that Moore was on his way to putting away Marciano, but Marciano was a champion and he was not finished. He came back strong and managed to take control of the fight. Marciano was fighting as if this was going to be the last fight of his career. He came out strong in the 9th round and managed to put away Moore with a knockout.

This actually would be the last fight of Marciano?s career. This was the last time that he would defend his belt as he officially retired on the 27th of April in 1956.

DHAKA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The World Bank has approved 100 million U.S. dollars financing to support Bangladesh in diversifying exports in labor and skill intensive industries beyond the garment sector.

The Export Competitiveness for Jobs Project will improve competitiveness of existing and potential export-oriented industries such as leather, footwear, plastics and light engineering, where Bangladesh has demonstrated a competitive edge, said the Washington based lender in a statement received here Sunday.

The project will help create more than 90,000 jobs in non-Ready Made Garment (RMG) export sectors, it said.

"Bangladesh is the world's second largest garments exporter after China and it can boost growth by diversifying its exports, and repeat the garment sector success story in other sectors," said Qimiao Fan, World Bank Country Director for Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.

"The project will help the economy to integrate further into the world trading system, and provide better jobs to Bangladeshi youth entering the labor market in the next decade, with a particular focus on improving female labor participation."

The project will help firms to access international markets and enhance their ability to comply with international standards through awareness building and matching grants.

The project will also support marketing and branding efforts to strengthen linkages to existing and new markets. It will also address the shortage of skills development, especially in industrial training for women, as well as in infrastructure and technology.

"The project will enhance growth and competitiveness of selected sectors that have a demonstrated comparative advantage or that provide essential inputs in export-oriented manufacturing value chains," said Michael Olavi Engman, World Bank Team Leader for the Export Competitiveness for Jobs Project.

"The project will encourage training to improve skills and labor productivity, and thus help generate better-paid jobs. The average wage growth for firms benefitting from the project could rise by an estimated 34 percent by the end of the project."

Although the RMG sector constitutes 82 percent of exports, employment growth in the sector has stalled. However, the non-RMG manufacturing sectors have been generating about 300,000 new jobs annually since 2010.

Light manufacturing sub-sectors, which are labor intensive and employ women, have expanded employment by 4.3 percent annually since 2010. The project will build on this momentum, and help increase the number of firms directly exporting in targeted sectors by about 29 percent.
